Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) (Land Surveying): Reviewing, signing, and sealing survey and right-of-way plans while providing quality assurance and advisory oversight for transportation and land development projects with an accent on Pennsylvania standards, multidisciplinary coordination, and survey team leadership. Focus on mentoring staff, overseeing boundary and ALTA/NSPS surveys, developing ROW plans, and supporting proposals and client growth.
Location: Primarily in office in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, USA

What you will do
- Provide quality assurance, technical review, responsible charge, and signing and sealing of survey deliverables.
- Oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, as-built, and right-of-way surveys and plans.
- Mentor junior survey staff, field crews, and office personnel.
- Establish department standards, procedures, and QA/QC practices.
- Coordinate with engineering and environmental teams on transportation, infrastructure, and land development projects.
- Support PennDOT and municipal requirements, proposals, scope development, fee estimates, and client relationships.
Requirements
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive surveying experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Professional Land Surveyor license in Pennsylvania required.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License required.
- Strong knowledge of boundary law, surveying principles, Pennsylvania standards, and PennDOT requirements.
- Proficiency with Carlson, Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
- Experience developing right-of-way plots, plans, and mosaics.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Licensure or familiarity with surrounding states.
- Experience with MicroStation, transportation and infrastructure projects, and multiple concurrent projects.
- Existing relationships with PennDOT, municipalities, or regional clients.
