Location: Remote across the United States, including Remote-TX, or Toronto, Canada. Occasional travel to client and account meetings and technical conferences is required. The role also requires daily online availability on Teams when working as part of an immediate-access support team.
Base salary: $150,000–$190,000 USD annually. For positions based in Ontario: $110,000–$140,000 CAD annually. The position is also eligible for a bonus.

What you will do
- Develop technical risk engineering guidelines, bulletins, processes, and tools.
- Research industry losses, emerging technologies, and emerging property risks.
- Support complex technical property questions, plan reviews, and issues without established industry guidance.
- Collaborate with Technical Services, the Chief Underwriting Office, Risk Engineering Leadership, account teams, and underwriters.
- Lead training and development for risk engineering, underwriting, external clients, and industry organizations.
- Maintain training and technical guideline libraries and oversee risk engineering tool development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics, or equivalent industry knowledge.
- At least 15 years of highly protected risk, specialized industry, and/or boiler and machinery field experience.
- Knowledge of commercial property occupancies, including light-hazard and heavy-industrial environments.
- Ability to review buildings and structures, read risk reports, construction drawings, diagrams, and printed materials.
- Familiarity with NFPA, FM, and other industry standards.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions with or without established guidelines, communicate effectively, and complete assignments on time.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer license, Certified Fire Protection Specialist designation, or similar qualification.
- Participation in technical and industry organizations such as NFPA and CFPS.
