Senior Fire Protection Discipline Engineer (10+ years)

Location: Hybrid work schedule, Fulton, Maryland, United States; travel is required.

Salary: USD 150,000–215,000 per year, based on qualifications and relevant experience.

What you will do

• Provide technical fire protection consulting and forensic support for subrogation, liability, construction claims, and litigation matters.
• Manage daily communications with internal and external clients and oversee internal projects and staff.
• Analyze water-based fire protection systems, special hazards systems, fire detection, alarm, and mass notification systems.
• Perform fire and building code analysis and interpretation.
• Collect, handle, store, and examine evidence according to appropriate practices.
• Develop client relationships and new business while mentoring junior staff and providing expert witness testimony.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
• Fire Protection License by examination issued by a U.S. state.
• At least 10 years of experience in fire protection, with a focus on forensic support.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, the IBC, and related standards.
• Excellent written, verbal, and oral presentation skills; willingness to travel.
