Fire Protection Engineer (2+years)

Location: Auburn, California, USA; hybrid work schedule

Salary: USD 75,000–115,000 yearly, plus paid overtime at 1.0 times the hourly rate and a discretionary year-end bonus.

Engineering consultancy providing multidisciplinary design, fire protection, construction, and project management services for commercial, institutional, government, industrial, and other projects across the United States and overseas.

What you will do

• Design automatic suppression, fire detection, fire alarm, and mass notification systems.
• Perform building and fire code analysis, egress analysis, and fire-resistant construction analysis.
• Analyze existing fire protection systems and develop general fire protection and life safety solutions.
• Conduct smoke control and performance-based design studies using FDS, PyroSim, and CONTAM.
• Research, document, and communicate technical findings for internal and external distribution.
• Manage day-to-day client contacts and internal projects while coordinating project needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university; a fire protection degree is preferred.
• At least two years of professional experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer skills for email, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and computer-aided drafting.
• Professional Engineer registration is preferred; Engineer-in-Training status or the ability to take the FE exam within six months is also considered.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
