Fire Assay Technician (Geochemistry)

Location: 3260 Production Way, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada; onsite

Salary: Starting at CAD 21.50 per hour

What you will do

• Perform fire assay procedures, including fluxing, fusing, and cupelling samples according to written procedures.
• Carry out routine equipment maintenance under supervisor direction.
• Complete work orders, fusion sheets, and laboratory logs accurately and on time.
• Follow quality system protocols and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean work environment and organize the disposal and labeling of crucibles, cupels, and fire assay lead waste.
• Support other geochemistry laboratory sections and coordinate special or ad hoc projects when assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Zero to one year of relevant laboratory experience preferred, or equivalent laboratory experience gained through education.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada.
• Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
