Special Education Paraprofessional (26-27)

Location: San Antonio, Texas, USA. Reports to the school site Monday-Friday; occasional travel to other campuses or regional offices may be required.

What you will do

• Support students during instructional and classroom activities under the direction of special education and general education teachers.
• Provide direct academic, functional, physical, mobility, self-care, and daily living support according to individualized plans such as IEPs or care plans.
• Tutor individual students, help prepare assignments, and explain difficult material.
• Supervise and accompany students between classrooms, offices, buses, cafeterias, and other school areas.
• Communicate with teachers and parents about student needs and progress.
• Provide classroom preparation and clerical support, including copying and preparing materials.

Requirements

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent, plus one of the required highly qualified instructional aide pathways: two years of higher education, an associate's or higher degree, or successful completion of a rigorous state or local academic assessment.
• English and Spanish bilingual ability required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, time management, organization, and stakeholder relationship-building skills.
• Ability to remain calm and maintain emotional control under pressure, manage frequent interruptions, and make timely decisions.
• Ability to move throughout the school during the workday and attend in-person and virtual meetings, conferences, and training.
• Reliable transportation required for travel between campuses.

• Additional bilingual English/Spanish experience.
