Salary: $72,000–$115,000 per year

What you will do

• Modify, differentiate, and teach an inclusive curriculum that emphasizes diversity.
• Develop and monitor accommodations and modifications through 504 plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Manage an IEP caseload by collecting academic growth data, writing IEPs, and participating in IEP meetings.
• Provide pull-out, push-in, small-group, and one-on-one specialized instruction.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, school leaders, families, and Special Education teams to respond to student progress and assessment data.
• Build supportive relationships with students and families and contribute to school-wide culture, mentoring, coaching, and professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university before employment begins.
• Academic expertise in Special Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, STEM, or a related field.
• Commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development.
• Interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities; 1–2 years of experience is preferred.
• Must meet New York State certification eligibility requirements and become certified in New York within a reasonable period after starting.
• Candidates without an education degree must enroll in a teacher preparation program and maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 during employment.
