Assistant General Manager (Metal Recycling)

Location: Phoenix, Arizona, United States; onsite, full-time

What you will do

• Support daily yard, production, processing, receiving, shipping, and equipment operations to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate operational priorities across shifts and departments, ensuring employees understand responsibilities and delegated tasks.
• Coach, mentor, and provide performance feedback to supervisors, operators, and support teams.
• Maintain quality standards for incoming materials, processed metals, and outbound shipments.
• Support scheduling, resource planning, equipment allocation, timekeeping, personnel records, and operational reporting.
• Collaborate with maintenance, logistics, scale staff, EHS, HR, and management on reliability, incidents, corrective actions, and process improvement.

Requirements

• Leadership experience in a heavy-industrial, metals, recycling, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of metal recycling processes, yard operations, or related industrial workflows.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, problem-solving, and operational leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational reporting tools.
