Field Technician I

Location: St Paul, Virginia, USA; local day travel may be required, with occasional overnight travel. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional weekend overtime.

What you will do

• Collect samples of products and raw materials transferred to containers, vessels, barges, trucks, and rail.
• Label sample containers and paperwork with identification data, location, date, and collection time.
• Deliver samples to the laboratory and perform preparation, reduction, division, screening, and basic physical tests.
• Organize and clean sampling equipment and containers before and after use.
• Use relevant personal protective equipment and follow local and federal safety procedures.
• Provide preparation or laboratory support when required by business needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required unless required by state law.
• Intermediate English required; advanced English preferred.
• Basic mathematical skills and intermediate reasoning abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow procedures, read safety and operating documentation, and work independently under moderate supervision.
• A current driver’s license, TWIC, and 24-hour MSHA certification may be required depending on the assignment; MSHA training is available through hirify.global.
