Petroleum Inspector

What you will do

• Test and supervise bulk liquid or gaseous hydrocarbon and chemical cargo transfers.
• Sample, gauge, measure, and record temperatures in vessel and shore tanks using company and API procedures.
• Calculate transferred quantities and perform full reconciliation.
• Complete inspection reports and forms using SGS SIR and SAT systems.
• Coordinate with client representatives, US Customs, vessel personnel, government agents, and shore facility personnel.
• Maintain job-status communication, safety practices, industry standards, and required branch support duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license; the license must remain valid throughout employment.
• Basic English required.
• Basic mathematical proficiency, including fractions and decimals, and intermediate reasoning skills.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency with MS Office and the ability to work independently under pressure.
• Ability to frequently stand, move, climb, crouch, and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.

Nice to have

• 6 months to 2 years of transferable industry experience.
• Completion of the Inspector Development Program Level.
• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
• International Federation of Inspection Agencies (IFIA) certification.
