Field Inspector I

Location: Chesapeake, Virginia, United States; full-time onsite role with rotating day and night shifts.

Rate: $20–$22 per hour.

What you will do

• Inspect and sample containers, barges, grain, food oils, wood pellets, and other commodities.
• Supervise loading operations, count products, and verify compliance with applicable standards and procedures.
• Measure, weigh, sample, and take product temperatures; calculate transferred quantities and complete reconciliations.
• Transport commodity samples between loading terminals and the office and perform basic laboratory testing under supervision.
• Record inspection details through notes and photographs and submit required field reports.
• Communicate job status and issues to administrative staff while following safety, integrity, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Valid TWIC card required.
• Active driver license required.
• Ability to climb ladders at heights above 6 feet and lift up to 60 pounds.
• Availability for rotating day and night shifts.
