Diesel Mechanic B Tech

Location: Pinconning, Michigan, USA; on-site, full-time

Compensation: $2,500 sign-on bonus

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks, refuse bodies, and related equipment.
• Diagnose and service chassis, hydraulic, electrical, air brake, engine, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, line maintenance welding, fabrication, and basic tire work.
• Provide road service when required to return equipment to safe and efficient operation.
• Identify malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools and complete required training programs.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of technician experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next three months.
• Experience with or knowledge of Class 1–5 light/medium-duty and Class 7–8 heavy-duty trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and perform basic inspections with limited supervision.
• Working knowledge of selected suspension, steering, engine, transmission, brake, electrical, hydraulic, drivetrain, and diesel-emissions systems.
• Valid driver’s license required; commercial driver’s license and ASE T1–T8 certifications are a plus but not required.
