Diesel Mechanic (Fleet Maintenance)

Location: Odessa, Texas, United States; full-time, Monday through Friday day shift with some on-call work as needed

What you will do

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on tractors and tanker trailers.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, vehicle electrical systems, electronic systems, and air brake components.
• Document repairs electronically in a computer-based vehicle maintenance system and perform road repairs when needed.
• Carry out cryogenic maintenance, including repairing or replacing valves and pumps, and calibrating pump discharge meters.
• Support fleet and plant operations through trailer loading, equipment washing, housekeeping, inventory management, and handling fuels and lubricants.
• Participate in safety, training, environmental, improvement, and delivery-operation programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license; Class A CDL is preferred but not required.
• Strong mechanical background, diesel engine troubleshooting and minor repair experience, and the ability to drive a tractor.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills on 12-volt DC circuits and welding knowledge and experience.
• Strong computer skills, solid work history, organization, initiative, teamwork, and commitment to safety.
• This is a safety-sensitive position.

Nice to have

• Class A CDL.
• Gas and electrical welding experience.
