Facilities Maintenance Technician - HVAC

Location: 100% onsite in Palm Bay, Florida, United States. Night shift from 6:45pm to 7:15am, working three nights one week and four nights the next. Must be a US person due to ITAR requirements.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot industrial plant mechanical systems, including chillers, air handlers, air distribution, controls, VFDs, pumps, and exhaust fans.
• Perform system walkdowns, record operating data, and verify the performance of DI water, waste treatment, nitrogen, and chiller plants.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on HVAC, water, compressed air, vacuum, controls, and life safety systems.
• Research vendors and prepare parts and material proposals or quotes for management.
• Install mechanical systems and components such as pumps, fans, valves, controls, and piping.
• Support engineering and management with construction and plant modification projects.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in industrial HVAC, refrigeration, air handling, fluid pumps, chillers, air compressors, or vacuum pumps.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an AS or AA in an electromechanical curriculum or skilled-trades military training is preferred.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints, drawings, and rough sketches.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
• US person status required for ITAR compliance.

Nice to have

• Training or certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or controls.
• Experience with pneumatic and DDC controls or automation systems.
• Experience with electrical systems up to 460 volts, process piping, life safety systems, high-purity water, or waste treatment.
