Senior HSSE Engineer (Gas Turbines)

Location: Rowville, Victoria; onsite five days a week. The role covers Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea and requires 25–50% domestic and international travel each month. Relocation is not available.

What you will do

• Provide HSSE leadership and technical support for field operations, overhaul workshops, test cells, warehouses, and related facilities.
• Support global HSSE programs, local implementation, operational risk management, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct site HSSE, security risk, vulnerability, and field security assessments.
• Lead or support investigations into serious injuries, occupational exposures, equipment incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Apply root cause analysis, develop corrective actions, and prepare detailed reports for management and stakeholders.
• Maintain emergency management planning, the Occupational Safety and Health Legal Register, and Facility Security Manager responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental, Health, and Safety-related discipline such as Engineering or Science, with 3–5 years of related experience; or relevant bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
• Strong understanding of HSSE management systems in field, workshop, test cell, warehouse, and facility environments.
• Knowledge of Australian OH&S legislation, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards, and state and territory compliance requirements.
• Experience with site HSSE assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and detailed reporting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret technical regulatory requirements.
