TL;DR
HSSE Business Partner - NSW & ACT (Occupational Health and Safety): Strengthening safety culture and performance across a multi-site Australian retail network with an accent on operational risk management, compliance and frontline leadership coaching. Focus on conducting site assessments, investigating incidents, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions to completion.

What you will do

  • Coach State, Area and Store Managers to strengthen safety leadership and ownership across the retail network.
  • Support stores in embedding safe work practices and maintaining emergency response readiness.
  • Conduct site risk assessments, safety observations, reviews and compliance checks.
  • Help leaders identify, manage and escalate operational safety risks and track corrective actions through completion.
  • Support safety incident investigations, root-cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
  • Partner with Operations, Store Enablement, Group Safety and Group Security on HSSE requirements and operational initiatives.

Requirements

  • Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management or a related discipline.
  • Experience in workplace health and safety, preferably in an operational or multi-site environment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety risk management, incident investigation and assurance practices.
  • Ability to coach frontline leaders and operational teams to improve safety outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across multiple organisational levels.
  • Practical, solutions-focused approach to reducing operational safety risks.

Nice to have

  • Experience in retail, convenience, fuel, QSR or other complex multi-site environments.
  • Relevant safety certifications or experience implementing safety culture and behaviour-based safety initiatives.
