What you will do

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for oncology and hereditary-risk patients.
  • Provide cancer genetic risk assessments and counseling for patients with personal or family histories of cancer.
  • Interpret genetic test results and communicate findings to patients, families, and care teams.
  • Develop and monitor individualized surveillance and risk-reduction plans for high-risk breast patients.
  • Provide direct clinical care, prescribe therapies, perform procedures, educate patients, and document care and charges.
  • Participate in case management, palliative care, staff education, tumor boards, quality improvement, and cancer genetics research.

Requirements

  • DNP or MSN from an accredited nursing school and completion of an NP program.
  • Current ARNP/RN licensure and CGRA certification.
  • At least three years of experience, preferably in oncology or genetics.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Ability to work with blood-borne pathogens, toxic or caustic chemicals, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations in an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, and occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry up to 40 pounds.

  • Experience with NCCN and ACMG genetic guidelines, variant reclassification, and secondary findings.
