What you will do

  • Provide genetic counseling to adult and pediatric patients and families across hereditary cancer conditions.
  • Collect and evaluate personal and family histories, assess hereditary cancer risk, discuss testing options, obtain informed consent, disclose results, and provide psychosocial support.
  • Select genetic testing options and laboratories, coordinate blood and tissue samples, and manage follow-up communications.
  • Document clinical findings and coordinate recommendations with patients, providers, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Support variant interpretation, patient education materials, community outreach, provider education, and satellite clinic services.
  • Contribute to supervision, teaching, professional development, and clinical research involving hereditary cancer syndromes and cancer prevention.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling.
  • At least 3 years of clinical genetic counseling experience.
  • Board certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and current licensure as a Genetic Counselor in Massachusetts.
  • Advanced knowledge of cancer genetics, hereditary cancer syndromes, genetic testing, risk assessment, and psychosocial counseling.
  • Knowledge of whole genome analysis, personalized genomic medicine, pedigree standards, and pedigree-drawing software.
  • Strong communication, presentation, teaching, research, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Up to 7 years of clinical cancer genetic counseling experience.
  • Experience in an academic medical center, cancer center, or similarly complex healthcare environment.
  • Experience with provider education, trainee supervision, clinical outreach, or research participation.
