E&I Technician (Electrical and Instrumentation)

Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands; onsite, full-time. The role includes occasional travel to other hirify.global locations in the Netherlands and Europe, participation in an on-call rota approximately every 6–7 weeks, and occasional overtime.

What you will do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment across production facilities.
• Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement sustainable technical solutions.
• Prepare, plan, and complete maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
• Support plant shutdowns and turnaround activities, including permit-to-work procedures and task-specific risk assessments.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors when required, while maintaining accurate technical records and equipment data.
• Contribute to reliability and safety improvements, spare-parts management, and the maintenance of E&I-related safety systems.

Requirements

• MBO Level 4 working and thinking level in electrical engineering or instrumentation.
• Experience maintaining electrical and/or instrumentation equipment in an industrial environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and work in a structured, safe manner.
• Practical, hands-on mindset, willingness to learn, and a strong focus on safety, quality, and reliability.
• Team-oriented attitude and clear interpersonal skills.
• Good knowledge of English; Dutch knowledge is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience supervising contractors or coordinating maintenance work.
• VCA, NEN3140, or NEN3840 certification, or willingness to obtain these certifications.
