TL;DR
Senior Buyer (Strategic Procurement): Managing purchase orders, supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and strategic sourcing activities for Solar Turbines in Mexico with an accent on cost alignment, supplier performance, and procurement capability deployment. Focus on negotiating long-term agreements, coordinating supplier engagement, analyzing procurement data, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Location: Tijuana, Mexico; onsite five days per week with no remote work. Occasional travel to the US and Southern California is required, including a US travel visa.

What you will do
- Release and manage purchase orders accurately and promptly.
- Negotiate contracts, including long-term agreements and purchase and sale agreements.
- Manage material surcharge agreements, purchase-part costs, and cost alignment.
- Own supplier relationships, coordinate supplier visits, and serve as the primary commercial contact.
- Share supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and deploy procurement capabilities, tools, best practices, and training.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Hands-on experience negotiating contracts, purchase-part costs, and managing supplier relationships is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional, confident, and collaborative approach.
- Native Spanish and professional/fluent English are required.
- Valid visa for travel to the US is required. SENTRI or Global Entry is preferred.

- Knowledge of data analytics tools and techniques.
- Experience with negotiation, conflict resolution, matrix management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Understanding of cost management, category management, contracts administration, and compliance.
- Ability to analyze procurement data and present findings to leadership.
- SENTRI or Global Entry for US travel.
