421A Heavy Equipment Mechanic Supervisor

Location: Onsite in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Monday to Friday on a bi-weekly rotation covering days and afternoons.

Salary: Starting at CAD 50 per hour, plus overtime after 44 hours.

What you will do

• Supervise and mentor licensed 421A mechanics, apprentices, and experienced technicians.
• Oversee daily repairs, troubleshooting, inspections, and preventive maintenance across a heavy equipment fleet.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Coordinate task scheduling, work prioritization, and maintenance planning with Maintenance and Operations teams.
• Manage work orders, reporting, and maintenance tracking in CMMS, including Maximo.
• Lead monthly shop safety inspections, organize tools and parts, and delegate work to maximize productivity.

Requirements

• Valid 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification is an asset.
• Proven supervisory experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Proactive problem-solving approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Physical fitness and comfort working in demanding outdoor industrial environments.
