Maintenance Worker - Northern Manitoba Remote Camp Operations

Location: Northern Manitoba remote camp sites, with travel provided from designated locations in Winnipeg, Thompson, Flin Flon, and The Pas. On-site camp work follows a 2-week-on/1-week-off rotation.

Salary: Starting at CAD 30 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform building maintenance, inspections, preventive maintenance, and assigned repair projects across the camp.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and gas-fired systems.
• Maintain diesel generators, sump and lift stations, camp utilities, appliances, laundry machines, fire alarms, emergency lights, and safety equipment.
• Carry out carpentry, drywall, painting, snow removal, sanding, de-icing, and exterior structure maintenance.
• Respond to urgent issues such as power outages, leaks, and equipment failures while following safety procedures.
• Document repairs, inspections, equipment usage, inventory, and deficiencies, coordinating with camp departments to minimize downtime.

Requirements

• Related maintenance experience in a remote lodge, hotel, institutional, or construction environment.
• Valid Class G or Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving abstract.
• Experience using light power tools.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Ability to work a 2-week-on/1-week-off rotation and handle nights, weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and perform climbing, standing, walking, kneeling, repetitive hand work, and overhead work.

Nice to have

• Journeyman Trade Certification.
• Experience with Microsoft applications and maintenance reporting software.
