TL;DR
Bone Marrow Transplant Advanced Practice Provider Senior (Oncology) (Bone Marrow Transplant/Oncology): Providing direct diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients in a hospital-affiliated bone marrow transplant department with an accent on care planning, clinical procedures, patient education, and evidence-based oncology practice. Focus on assessing treatment response, documenting interventions and charges, coordinating care with physicians, and supporting patients throughout the care continuum.

Location: Dallas Medical City, Dallas, Texas; full-time onsite schedule, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm. Responsibilities may include hospital rounds and weekend or after-hours calls.

What you will do

  • Provide direct diagnostic and therapeutic care for bone marrow transplant patients in collaboration with physicians.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout the care continuum.
  • Initiate and document interventions, prescribe therapies as indicated, and evaluate patient and family responses.
  • Perform procedures after appropriate training and provide patient and family education.
  • Complete timely medical record documentation and patient charge capture.
  • Support case management, staff education, community resource referrals, and compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: MSN and completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, current RN and Nurse Practitioner licensure, and 0–3 years of post-MSN experience typically required.
  • Physician Assistant: completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program, current NCCPA certification and state licensure, and 0–3 years of practicing experience typically required.
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist: MSN and completion of an accredited Clinical Nurse Specialist program, current RN and Clinical Nurse Specialist licensure, and 0–3 years of post-MSN experience typically required.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification is required.
  • Ability to handle and lift patients, stand and walk for extended periods, and occasionally lift items weighing up to 40 lbs.
