Senior Bridge Engineer-Project Manager (Structural Engineering)

Location: Richmond, Virginia, with flexibility for Virginia Beach, Fairfax, Virginia, or Washington, D.C.

Compensation: $124,726.29–$142,544.33 annually

What you will do

• Serve as technical lead and/or project manager for bridge and transportation projects.
• Lead projects from planning and design through construction support and final closeout.
• Manage project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, technical specifications, quality, and budgets.
• Represent projects with clients, VDOT, agencies, and public stakeholders.
• Review and approve plans for compliance with applicable standards and permitting requirements.
• Mentor engineers and technicians and contribute to business development, proposals, and delivery improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia.
• At least 8 years of experience in structural design for highway bridges.
• Experience with highway and pedestrian bridge structures, retaining walls, structural analysis, and bridge design software.
• Familiarity with VDOT standards, processes, and project delivery.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AASHTO LRFD, AREMA, concrete and steel bridge design, and staged construction analysis.
• Experience working directly with VDOT or Virginia localities.
• Capabilities in structural analysis, load rating, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• NBIS certification and bridge inspection experience.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenBridge Designer.
