Project Paint & Blaster B (Protective Coatings): Preparing, blasting, mixing, and applying protective coatings to fabricated heavy-steel products with an accent on coating specifications, surface preparation, and safety compliance. Focus on qualifying coating systems, determining applications under changing weather conditions, maintaining equipment, and supporting production schedules.
Location: Channelview, Texas, United States; full-time onsite position

What you will do
- Prepare fabricated parts and surfaces through blasting and cleaning operations.
- Mix colors and apply protective coatings according to specifications, procedures, weather conditions, and required film thickness.
- Meet Paint and Blast production schedules while maintaining quality and complying with safety and environmental requirements.
- Maintain painting, blasting, and related equipment in good working condition.
- Interpret customer coating specifications, assist with non-standard coating qualifications, and support development of standard protective coating systems.
- Assist with training less experienced Painter/Blasters and support other facility personnel as needed.
Requirements
- Three to five years of experience as a fully competent and qualified Painter/Blaster, requiring minimal supervision.
- Experience in a heavy steel fabrication environment.
- Ability to perform assigned painting and blasting tasks competently and safely.
- Knowledge of different blasting levels and protective coating applications under varying weather conditions.
- Ability to use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping procedures.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with others.
Nice to have
- Experience safely operating a forklift.
- Experience safely operating a man-lift.
- Knowledge of standard protective coating systems.
