Senior Cost Accountant (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Analyze manufacturing variances, including purchase price variance (PPV), cost revaluations, and standard costing impacts.
• Prepare excess and obsolete inventory calculations and support lower of cost or market (LCM) valuation.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Production, and Warehouse teams during month-end close to resolve inventory issues.
• Lead the Material Review Board process, including inventory disposition and destruction activities.
• Monitor inventory aging and work orders, identifying opportunities to reduce excess inventory.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, dashboards, KPIs, and operational metrics while supporting audits and SOX compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment, preferably pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, standard costing, manufacturing variances, PPV, inventory revaluation, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JDE, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Manufacturing.
• Experience with SOX controls, internal controls, audit requests, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
