Staff Cost Accountant (Aerospace Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Lead monthly close activities for cost accounting, including inventory journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Own standard costing, annual and interim cost updates, labor rates, overhead rates, and product cost rollups.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, and FP&A to assess BOM, routing, engineering change, and new product cost impacts.
• Oversee material consumption, labor capitalization, manufacturing overhead, production variances, scrap, rework, yield losses, and inventory adjustments.
• Manage perpetual inventory accounting, physical inventory observations, cycle counts, inventory reserves, and LCNRV evaluations.
• Support SEC reporting, external audits, SOX testing, and process improvement and automation initiatives.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations is required.
• At least 8 years of progressive cost or manufacturing accounting experience with a B.S./B.A. in Accounting, or at least 6 years with a relevant M.S./M.A.
• CPA or CMA certification is required.
• Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP inventory accounting, including ASC 330, standard and actual costing, overhead allocation, inventory reserves, and capitalization.
• Experience with cost rollups, BOMs, routing structures, standard cost revisions, physical inventory controls, cycle counts, and ERP manufacturing modules.
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills, with experience using ERP systems such as Acumatica, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite, plus FactoryLogix or a similar MES.

Nice to have

• Experience in defense or aerospace manufacturing.
