Sr. Cost Accountant (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States. Candidates must have valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction.

What you will do

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reclassification entries during month-end close.
• Review and reconcile general ledger, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts while identifying financial risks and improper charges.
• Manage cost centers and project cost tracking in SAP, including SAP Project Systems, and maintain ERP data integrity.
• Prepare accounting schedules, reports, and analysis for business partners and auditors.
• Design, administer, and improve accounting processes, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with procurement, accounts payable, vendors, customers, ERP/IT teams, auditors, and international stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for education.
• 4+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel, with strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information.
• Working-level English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking is required.

Nice to have

• CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification.
• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 6+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, integrated ERP systems, complex cost structures, projects, and intercompany activity.
