TL;DR
Certified Medical Assistant I- Longview (Oncology): Supporting physicians and clinicians with patient care, examinations, injections, clinical room preparation, records, and administrative coordination with an accent on oncology clinic operations and safe patient handling. Focus on recording clinical data, assisting with procedures, maintaining disinfection protocols, coordinating prescriptions and referrals, and supporting efficient patient flow.

Location: Longview, Texas, United States. Full-time onsite schedule, Monday–Friday, typically 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

A large community oncology provider delivering evidence-based cancer care through more than 220 sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma.

What you will do

  • Assist physicians and clinicians with patient examinations, procedures, and general clinical care.
  • Escort patients, record vital signs and medical information, and obtain required patient records.
  • Prepare, stock, and disinfect examination and treatment rooms; order supplies as needed.
  • Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections under RN or physician delegation.
  • Answer patient calls, coordinate referrals and prescriptions, and communicate reschedules and no-shows.
  • Perform administrative support including scheduling, chart preparation, filing, faxing, reception, and order entry under provider supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical assistant or nursing assistant experience: 0–3 years for Level 1, at least 3 years for Level 2, or at least 5 years in a hospital or clinic setting for Senior level.
  • Medical assistant program graduation and Certified Medical Assistant credentials are preferred; specific state certifications may be required.
  • Current BCLS certification is required within three months of hire for Level 1; current CPR certification is required for the Senior level.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and handle or lift patients and items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Certified Medical Assistant credentials.
