TL;DR
Associate Clinical Consultant (MedTech): Supporting physicians and hospital staff in the appropriate use of Impella heart-recovery devices, including patient selection, clinical demonstrations, training, and implant support with an accent on cardiovascular care and medical-device applications. Focus on advising interventional cardiologists and surgeons, reviewing clinical outcomes, delivering physician education, and supporting sales activities across the Houston South territory.

Location: Houston South territory, Houston, Texas, United States of America; 50% travel within the territory and availability for emergent patient-care call required

What you will do

  • Demonstrate the value, impact, and appropriate use of the Impella product portfolio to physicians and hospital staff.
  • Advise interventional cardiologists, surgeons, and medical staff on patient selection, device applications, and implant procedures.
  • Deliver clinical demonstrations, ongoing training, and education programs for new and existing accounts.
  • Collect clinically relevant data, complete customer outcome reviews, and communicate activities with sales counterparts.
  • Organize physician meetings and staff dinner programs, and collaborate on cardiovascular awareness programs.
  • Support the commercial team in advancing the sales process and changing standards of care through Integrity Selling.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of direct RN, NP, PA, or Reg Tech patient-support experience in an ICU, CVICU, Cath Lab, or cardiovascular OR.
  • At least 2 years of commercial sales experience with cardiovascular products and technologies.
  • Ability to advance the sales process, work effectively in a team, and deliver demonstrations and successful training.
  • Availability to take call for emergent patient care and travel 50% within the Houston South territory.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities in accordance with state and federal medical-device laws and regulations.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on Impella support experience or experience as an Abiomed per diem.
  • RN license and ECMO experience.
  • Clinical training experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to advocate with physicians.
