Metrology Test Technician III

Location: San Diego, California; onsite five days a week. This is a second-shift position with some schedule flexibility required.

Compensation: $38.74–$58.10 per hour, plus an annual incentive bonus plan.

What you will do

• Perform calibration activities at the Kearny Mesa and Harbor Drive sites for development and production test operations.
• Calibrate portable and permanently installed electronic test equipment and automated data acquisition systems.
• Test, repair, adjust, and restore electrical, mechanical, dimensional, electromechanical, and electronic measuring equipment.
• Diagnose faults in pressure, electrical, vibration, flow, and other test systems, including sensors, analyzers, meters, transducers, and signal-conditioning equipment.
• Fabricate, install, test, repair, and modify electronic test equipment by interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Prepare preliminary calibration data analyses and reports for metrology management and engineers.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least three years of mechanical or electrical-related experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing test equipment.
• Basic computer skills and proactive problem-solving ability for complex technical issues.
• Commitment to safety and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer-sponsored visa status.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Fluke calibrator standards, including the 6270A.
• Metrology laboratory experience with resistance, voltage, current, vibration, temperature, frequency, flow, or pressure.
• Technical college, trade school, or military electrical/electronic training.
• Knowledge of error analysis, uncertainty calculations, statistical and quality-control methods, and ISO requirements.
