Location: Torrance, California, United States; on-site laboratory and field work

Salary: $30–$37.45 per hour, depending on experience.

What you will do

  • Perform routine and advanced calibration, testing, inspection, and certification of electronic and physical/dimensional measuring equipment.
  • Maintain traceability of calibration standards to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
  • Repair equipment, calibrate laboratory standards, and troubleshoot issues with design and engineering teams.
  • Set up and operate laboratory, hand, and standard machine tools, including automated calibration systems.
  • Prepare reports, work instructions, test procedures, and evaluation records while supporting customer technical requirements.
  • Provide equipment-operation guidance, handle escalations and priority requests, and act as a delegated laboratory safety representative.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an associate degree in engineering technology or a related field plus 2 years of experience.
  • Formal military PMEL, TMDE, or calibration school training with proof of attendance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to a client requirement.
  • Knowledge of basic and advanced calibration, testing, and inspection procedures, including advanced test-equipment calibration-system setup.
  • Ability to review, validate, create, and modify calibration, testing, and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to use laboratory measuring and testing equipment and standard hand and machine tools.

Nice to have

  • Experience with IndySoft, Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track, or Met/Cal.
  • Electrical or physical/dimensional calibration experience.
  • Microsoft technology proficiency, including Excel.
  • Previous customer service experience.
