Family Nurse Practitioner

Location: Austin, TX – 720 W 34th Street; onsite work required within reasonable commuting distance. Schedule: PRN, minimum 1–2 shifts per week. Clinic hours are Monday–Saturday, 8am–6pm.

What you will do

• Provide patient care within the scope of practice in an infusion center.
• Administer ordered therapies according to prescriber orders, facility protocols, INS standards, and company policies.
• Complete admissions, perform physical assessments, evaluate treatment responses, and document patient data.
• Ensure medication orders are complete, accurate, appropriate, and current before treatment.
• Report significant observations, follow up on identified problems, and communicate patient status to the IV team.
• Educate patients and families, participate in quality improvement, and provide coverage for nurse practitioners on leave or during new market launches.

Requirements

• MS in Nursing and at least two years of nursing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with IVs.
• Current, active, valid, and unrestricted nurse practitioner license in the applicable state.
• Active, current, and valid Family Nurse Practitioner certification.
• Multi-state licensure is required when providing services in multiple states.
• Satisfactory tuberculosis test and Hepatitis B vaccination or signed waiver.

Nice to have

• Experience with IV insertion and maintenance, ports, PICC lines, and peripheral lines.
• Experience managing infusion reactions, titration, medication mixing, and infusions.
• Ability to obtain credentialing with major payors, including Medicare and Medicaid.
