Senior Resident Engineer (Structures)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; full-time onsite role

Salary: $185,000–$235,000 annually

What you will do

• Oversee structures construction work at project sites, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Inspect falsework elements and prepare cost estimates for project activities.
• Prepare progress reports and technical reviews, address special issues, and coordinate work with contractors.
• Manage project documentation, contract compliance, contractor pay estimates, and submittals.
• Lead, mentor, and train field inspection and support staff.
• Enforce construction safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a closely related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• P.E. license or CCM credential required.
• At least 15 years of experience with complex bridge construction concepts and practices.
• Experience as a Structures Representative on at least two bridge projects with a minimum construction value of $20 million each.
• Strong written communication, reporting, contractor coordination, and field issue resolution skills.
• Experience with Caltrans projects or projects under Caltrans oversight is strongly preferred.
