Resident Engineer (Infrastructure)

Location: Empire State Building, New York, New York; full-time onsite work in the New York Field Office.

Salary: $119,317.24–$136,362.56 per year.

What you will do

• Lead and supervise field inspection staff on transportation infrastructure construction projects.
• Review construction schedules, chair project meetings, and coordinate with contractors and stakeholders.
• Conduct onsite inspections, material testing, and field measurements to support project estimates.
• Monitor contractor compliance with contract documents, specifications, regulations, and quality standards.
• Review shop drawings, estimates, change orders, supplemental agreements, reports, and remediation plans.
• Support contract administration, budgeting, financial reporting, dispute resolution, and timely project completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• At least 5 years of relevant Resident Engineering experience on infrastructure construction projects.
• NYCDDC construction project experience required or strongly relevant to the role.
• Ability to manage field staff independently and deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, specifications, schedules, estimates, and regulatory compliance.

Nice to have

• Experience on NYCDDC construction projects.
• NYPE license.
• Master’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
