Pharmaceutical Scientist - Robotics and Automation

Location: Groton, Connecticut, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance

Salary: USD 25–30 per hour

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; overtime as needed.

What you will do

• Design, prototype, and develop laboratory automation solutions for pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Assist with designing and testing modular hardware for data-rich experimentation.
• Implement robotic control systems to orchestrate multiple laboratory workstreams.
• Deploy digital tools, machine learning, and self-optimization capabilities to improve automation.
• Collaborate with formulation scientists, material scientists, engineers, and internal and external stakeholders on solid dosage form development workflows.
• Develop data management systems to retrieve, process, and store data from manual and automated experiments.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline, or a bachelor's degree with 2–4 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Strong coding skills in C, C++, or Python.
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Ability to work onsite in or within commuting distance of Groton, CT.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics and machine vision systems used in laboratory automation.
• Experience in pharmaceutical research and development.
