Senior Systems Engineer (Laboratory Automation)

What you will do

• Lead the development, validation, and integration of automated laboratory instrumentation and bioprocess technologies.
• Develop, test, and release automated processes, protocols, scripts, and systems.
• Operate and maintain laboratory automation, scientific instruments, and cross-integration systems.
• Connect robotic instrumentation with sample-tracking software and LIMS infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot equipment and system issues with multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare documentation, support knowledge transfer and training, and follow ISO 13485 requirements.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or an M.S. with 3 years, or a B.S. with 5 years of related experience in biomedical, chemical, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience developing automated instrumentation for bioprocesses.
• Experience with Design of Experiments for process testing and troubleshooting.
• Experience designing and writing C# or Python scripts for laboratory automation control or dynamic scheduling software.
• Experience with sample-tracking software and interfaces between robotic instrumentation and LIMS systems, including MES/Maestro or Twist build.
• Excellent scientific computation, data analysis, communication, writing, hardware assembly, and maintenance skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with biological instrumentation for liquid transfer, PCR, cell-based cloning, DNA extraction, and purification.
