Technical Platform Manager - IaaS

Location: Chicago, Illinois; hybrid with at least two days per week in person at an assigned hirify.global office

Salary: $168,750–$281,250 annually

What you will do

• Define and manage the roadmap for cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities.
• Partner with Solutions, Engineering, DevOps, and Security to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Solutions and Engineering to drive execution and platform adoption.
• Prioritize infrastructure requirements covering scalability, automation, reliability, security, and cost optimization.
• Lead platform capabilities from concept through implementation and lifecycle management.
• Establish success metrics for reliability, developer experience, operational efficiency, and adoption.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Product Management, Platform Management, or related technology leadership.
• 5+ years working with cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps environments.
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, scalability, reliability, and security principles.
• Experience managing roadmaps and requirements in Agile environments using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, containers, orchestration, CI/CD, developer tooling, observability, and cloud security concepts including IAM, RBAC, encryption, and network security.

Nice to have

• Experience with FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
• Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering principles and operational excellence.
• Experience building self-service platform capabilities and improving developer experience.
• Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA compliance frameworks.
• Experience supporting cloud modernization or large-scale platform transformation initiatives.
