Senior Software Engineer, Platform (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York, NY. The listed salary range also covers San Francisco, New York, and Seattle.

Salary: $216,000–$270,000 USD annually, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and implement foundational platforms and shared systems used across the organization.
• Design data platforms and lifecycle systems, cloud infrastructure, and orchestration stacks.
• Work with stakeholders, internal customers, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver features.
• Improve programming practices through process enhancements and tooling upgrades.
• Present technical information and guide teams on development processes and technologies.

Requirements

• 3+ years of full-time engineering experience after graduation, specializing in backend systems.
• Extensive software development experience and strong knowledge of distributed systems and public cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Independent ownership of successful engineering projects.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and other containerization and deployment technologies.
• Experience with Temporal or AWS Step Functions, MongoDB, Postgres, and CI/CD tooling such as CircleCI.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, Firebolt, Dagster, or dbt.
• Experience with authentication and authorization systems such as Zanzibar or Authz.
• Experience scaling products at hyper-growth startups.
• Interest in AI technologies.
