What you will do

  • Assist physicians and clinicians with patient examinations, procedures, and day-to-day clinical care.
  • Escort patients, collect vital signs and other health information, and update medication and allergy records.
  • Prepare, stock, and disinfect examination and treatment rooms; order supplies as needed.
  • Administer delegated subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
  • Coordinate medical records, prescriptions, referrals, rescheduling, and patient telephone calls.
  • Complete clerical support tasks including scheduling, typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception, and supervised order entry.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant or nursing assistant experience; level I requires 0–3 years, level II requires at least 3 years, and Senior requires at least 5 years in a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred; specific certification may be required by state regulations.
  • Senior-level candidates must hold a current BLS certification.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, handle and lift patients, and occasionally carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
