Key Account Manager (Environmental Testing)

Location: Mayfield West, Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. Full-time role with local travel across the Newcastle and Hunter region, including site visits and sample collection.

What you will do

• Manage relationships with key environmental clients across the Newcastle and Hunter region.
• Coordinate sample receipt, registration, labelling, storage, dispatch, and related logistics.
• Keep clients informed about sample status, turnaround times, and delivery matters.
• Work with laboratory, operations, and management teams to monitor service performance and resolve client needs.
• Identify business opportunities, support client meetings, and prepare and follow up quotations and tenders.
• Support site visits, sample collection, marine sampling, and basic laboratory testing when required.

Requirements

• Diploma, degree, or relevant experience in a scientific field.
• Experience in environmental laboratory services and/or client services.
• Current driver’s licence and ability to travel locally.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general computer applications.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow quality, safety, and compliance standards.

Nice to have

• Experience in business development, quoting, or account management.
• Experience in a high-throughput laboratory.
• Experience using LIMS systems.
