Design-Build Project Manager (A/E Buildings Group)

Location: Hybrid role based at the Empire State Building in New York City, New York

Salary: $204,645.30–$233,880.34 per year

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end Design-Build delivery from pursuits and preliminary design through construction completion.
• Provide strategic leadership across architecture, structural, and MEP teams.
• Manage budgets, schedules, scope, risks, quality, commercial performance, and construction-phase changes.
• Act as the primary executive interface for clients, agencies, municipalities, contractors, joint ventures, and other stakeholders.
• Lead capture planning and proposal development for major Design-Build contracts.
• Mentor and develop teams of more than 70 staff while promoting safety, innovation, and digital delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Active New York PE or RA license required.
• 20+ years of experience, including recent leadership of projects from design through construction.
• Experience leading Design-Build projects with $20M+ in fee revenue and coordinating teams of 70+ staff.
• Strong experience in project leadership, including budget, schedule, risk, commercial, and client management.
• Experience in contractor-led, joint venture, or integrated Design-Build environments.

Nice to have

• DBIA certification.
• Experience with Progressive DB, CM/GC, P3, or other alternative delivery methods.
• Experience winning and delivering major Design-Build pursuits.
• Familiarity with NY/NJ agency clients, including NYSDOT, MTA, Port Authority, NJDOT, and Amtrak.
• Experience with digital delivery, BIM, advanced design technologies, commercial management, and procurement strategies.
