Project Director - Construction

Salary: USD 170,000–230,000 yearly

What you will do

• Lead the delivery of a single large project or multiple projects, ensuring contract compliance, safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance.
• Direct project administration, superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, unions, and other integrated project partners.
• Negotiate contracts, manage subcontracting and buyout strategies, and lead risk mitigation, claims, insurance, and bond compliance.
• Manage design phases for GMP and design-build projects, including GMP or lump-sum submissions, constructability reviews, and design coordination.
• Oversee project schedules, operational reviews, quality programs, Builder’s Risk events, and paths to successful completion.
• Support business development, estimating, bidding, strategic planning, recruiting, talent development, and succession planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• At least 10 years of experience in the AEC industry.
• Demonstrated senior project management success with large projects or portfolios of smaller projects.
• Advanced understanding of engineering disciplines, project execution, design and construction delivery, and integrated project delivery.
• Experience managing design processes and relationships between design and construction teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, safety, scheduling, and Microsoft Suite skills.

Nice to have

• Industry certification such as PMP, AECPMA, or DBIA.
