Lead Electrical Engineer - Industrial Systems (CO2 Refrigeration)

What you will do

• Lead electrical design activities for Industrial Systems Engineering projects in line with department standards.
• Design electrical systems and controls, including PLC-based controls, for refrigeration, heat pump, and chiller products using primarily CO2 refrigerant.
• Create schematics, wiring diagrams, sequence-of-operations documentation, component layouts, controller I/O layouts, and bills of material.
• Apply electrical power distribution, circuit design, relay protection, VFD, electromechanical, and electronic component expertise.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Quality, Service, vendors, consultants, and Engineering of Record partners to define requirements and implement changes.
• Provide technical leadership through manufacturing, system verification, field startup, and industrial project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of directly related refrigeration, heat pump, and chiller engineering experience.
• Broad knowledge of trans-critical CO2, cascade CO2, CO2 secondary systems, parallel compressor products, sequence of operations, I/O layouts, programming logic, and controls.
• Ability to create and edit electrical schematics and wiring diagrams from scratch using the latest version of AutoCAD.
• Experience selecting electrical components based on project requirements and company standards, with knowledge of circuit design and component functionality.
• Strong communication, interviewing, time management, organizational, and technical problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of experience in CO2 design and development.
• Experience with other refrigeration system manufacturers.
• Knowledge of application engineering tools and experience supporting new technologies and products.
• Experience preparing and presenting technical solutions and leading problem-solving teams.
