Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Melville, New York, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office days on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and remote work on Wednesday and Friday

What you will do

• Lead software projects from inception through deployment.
• Design and implement reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions for complex retail technology challenges.
• Develop technical specifications, software components, integrations, tests, and releases.
• Optimize code performance, address technical challenges, and participate in refactoring.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver changes to engineering processes and technologies.
• Use AI to develop applications and solve technical problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of production coding experience and object-oriented programming expertise.
• Experience with AI development, Claude Code, Agent OS, or spec-driven development.
• Expertise in service-oriented architectures, microservices, scalable web services, advanced database schemas, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful web services, SQL, Hibernate, automated testing, version control, CI tools, and messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Experience with Agile methodologies including Kanban, Scrum, or SAFe, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
