Head of Finance and Operations (SaaS/Retail)

Location: Melville, NY, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office days on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and remote work allowed on Wednesday and Friday.

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year.

What you will do

• Own AP/AR, cash flow management, reconciliations, financial reporting accuracy, and close processes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, leadership analysis, growth initiatives, investments, and operational scaling.
• Partner with Sales, Product, Operations, Legal, and other teams on financial execution, inventory, purchasing, vendors, and SaaS/product KPIs.
• Oversee financial systems, reporting tools, internal controls, governance, automation, and process improvements.
• Review and support negotiation of commercial, vendor, SaaS, and related agreements with external counsel, and operationalize contract terms.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in finance or operations, including at least 3 years in a SaaS or hybrid SaaS and physical-goods business.
• Experience working for founder-led or founder-owned companies and leading finance operations in high-growth environments.
• Strong finance fundamentals, including budgeting, forecasting, P&L, cash flow, financial reporting, and modeling.
• Deep operational experience in supply chain, fulfillment, systems, or cross-functional execution.
• Fluency with Excel or Sheets and financial modeling; exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating SaaS agreements, vendor terms, NDAs, and other commercial contracts, including identifying and escalating legal risk.
• Experience with ERP and financial systems, SaaS metrics including MRR, CAC, and LTV, and monetizing payments in SaaS.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams; a hands-on, detail-oriented ownership style.
• Active day-to-day use of AI tools and willingness to explain how AI is used in current work, organization, and problem-solving are required.
