Field Application Engineer - AMD Xilinx (FPGA)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States of America. Full-time onsite role. Must be a U.S. citizen and authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Lead AMD Xilinx technical initiatives and design-win activities for key customer accounts in collaboration with the dedicated Technical Sales Engineer.
• Advise customer engineers and architects on the use of Xilinx FPGA and SoC devices, IP, software tools, and hardware solutions.
• Manage technical support issues, including software tool and IP problems, design closure, RTL and simulation assistance, system bring-up, and debugging.
• Develop technical proposals, hardware and software demonstrations, and example designs aligned with customer requirements.
• Build trusted relationships with customer engineering and architecture teams and collaborate with AMD Xilinx, field teams, and ecosystem partners.
• Complete and maintain AMD Xilinx technical training and certification as required.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Systems-level understanding of FPGA and ASIC design tools; experience with Vivado, Vitis, ISE, or Quartus is required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to contribute to customer-focused sales strategies and understand end-product market requirements.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience providing comparable knowledge and job skills.
• U.S. citizenship and authorization to work for any U.S. employer are required.

Nice to have

• Experience designing with AMD Xilinx FPGA and SoC families, including Versal, Virtex, Kintex, Artix, Spartan, RFSoC, and Zynq.
• Knowledge of IP Integrator, Intel Altera Quartus, Eclipse-based development environments, and embedded system design.
• Experience with FPGA and SoC board design, power distribution and dissipation, high-speed interfaces, external memory controllers, and serial transceivers.
• Knowledge of x86 and ARM architectures, Linux, Yocto, BSPs, drivers, performance metrics, and debugging tools.
