Senior Design Manager - Higher Education

Location: Los Angeles, California; full-time, onsite role

Compensation: $196,118.41–$224,135.33 per year

What you will do

• Serve as the primary interface with design and specialty consultants throughout planning, design, construction, close-out, and DSA certification.
• Coordinate, manage, and monitor design milestones, deliverables, schedules, budgets, codes, standards, and project criteria.
• Collaborate with project team members, consultants, and District stakeholders to define project scope and resolve design-related issues.
• Perform QAQC reviews of plans, specifications, cut sheets, schedules, and other design documents for quality, constructability, coordination, and clarity.
• Review DSA construction change directives, assess design-change impacts, guide the DSA review process, and manage DSABox submittals.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in design and/or design management.
• At least 5 years of experience on projects requiring DSA or OSHPD certification.
• BA or BS in architecture, engineering, urban planning, construction management, or a closely related field.
• Knowledge of DSA requirements, California Public Contract Code provisions, and regulations governing DSA submissions.
• Experience managing design for major K–14 or higher education projects.
• Understanding of sustainable design, risk management, scope definition, and scope interfaces.
