Market Development Specialist (Data Center)

Location: San Diego, California; onsite five days a week. The role requires approximately 50% travel and may be based at multiple locations within driving distance of a hirify.global or Caterpillar location.

What you will do

• Lead the development and implementation of products and services for the data center market.
• Evaluate market opportunities, competitors, regulatory conditions, and market segments.
• Establish external contacts, identify strategic alliances, and present at conferences.
• Develop commercialization plans, internal sales tools, and customer-focused solution awareness.
• Assist with product specifications and proposal efforts while supporting sales initiatives.
• Report market findings and progress to senior management and make recommendations on complex business opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with a gas turbine, boiler, steam turbine, or reciprocating engine manufacturer.
• Knowledge of electric power developer markets, project development lifecycles, and business value analysis.
• Ability to research markets, monitor regulatory environments, assess trends, and support business development.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for preparing documentation and delivering presentations.
• Approximately 50% travel and onsite work five days per week are required.
