KIPP Nashville Public Schools is a network of free, open-enrollment K–12 schools serving students in Nashville as part of the broader KIPP Network.

What you will do

  • Support students with disabilities in inclusion and resource classroom settings across the school year.
  • Assist with academic, functional, physical, and specially designed instruction, including individual and small-group learning.
  • Supervise and accompany students between classrooms, offices, buses, cafeterias, and other school areas.
  • Communicate with classroom teachers, special education teachers, related-service professionals, and parents about student needs and progress.
  • Support student assessments, administrative and instructional duties, and professional learning activities.
  • Apply crisis intervention and physical management techniques, including restraint, holding, or lifting, when required and after training.

Requirements

  • Successful criminal background check required.
  • Experience working with students and/or caretakers.
  • Ability to work with students with physical, emotional, and/or intellectual disabilities.
  • Ability to participate in trained restraint and physical management techniques.
  • Knowledge of classroom management, child development, and related instructional techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate with a range of school and community stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of CPR and basic first aid techniques.
